ELISION – The Aesthetics of Disappearance

August 25, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$30 – $37
ELISION is an experimental classical music ensemble focused upon pushing sonic and instrumental boundaries in search of visceral expressive experiences.

The Aesthetics of Disappearance features the music of Cat Hope and Liza Lim in a ballet of twisting and turning sonic gestures written with Capoeira, the Brazilian martial dance practice, in mind; Luke Paulding’s Jupiter Dreaming (after interstellar space) and a premiere of Richard Barrett’s venus, composed for the rare and stunning Scelsi-inspired combination of harp, percussion and contrabass. Their performance in Primrose Potter Salon will explore their artisanal and intimately gestural approach to the production of music, the co-creative processes of dialogue with composers, and the way in which musicians imagine, develop and build new technical and expressive means.

Thursday 25 August 2022 7pm; MRC, Primrose Potter Salon;  Duration: 1 hour 30 mins (incl. interval)

TICKETS: Standard $37 ($30 Concession)
