The Gisborne Singers perform Sir Karl Jenkins’ Cantata Memoria Cantata Memoria commemorates the Aberfan tragedy of 21 October 1966. It was on this day that 116 children and 28 adults perished when a coal spoil tip enveloped Pantglas Junior School together with some houses in Aberfan, South Wales.
