‘Rare View’ 2018 World Premiere

September 22, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

$40 – $45

In 2017 Beleura hosted the Victoria Première of Alan’s highly commended Introspection debut album. Since then, seven out of its nine piano pieces were chosen by ANZCA (Australia and New Zealand Cultural Arts) as part of their 2018 – 2020 piano syllabus manual list. ANZCA holds instrumental examinations in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Brunei.

Now comes Rare View consisting of 12 new piano and chamber works featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Nicholas Young, Sydney cellist George Yang and violinist Dominik Przywara. Critics say Alan’s music possesses ‘great compositional balance of virtuosity, simplicity, fragility and drama’, and ‘is achieved with great skill…’ He ‘really has developed his own style…’ ‘with a special depth of harmony and melody…’ and ‘can move easily from one mode of expression to another seamlessly…’

Rare View’s repertoire is re-arranged for the largest Australian Stuart & Sons piano ever constructed for this one-off performance. Beleura House commissioned the Stuart family to make a 108-key 4-pedal piano (that’s 20 more keys than conventional pianos) to reside at Beleura for future concerts. The Rare View concert will be the first concert arranged specifically for this brand new piano.

Included in the price of a ticket is Beleura House’s renown Afternoon Tea served during Intermission.
