Melbourne Musicians: Bach and Mozart

The Melbourne Musicians present music by two of the greatest and most loved composers.

Internationally successful soprano Elena Xanthoudakis sings Bach’s delightful Wedding Cantata BWV 202, with its theme of Spring love.   The program continues with Mozart’s arrangements for strings of 5 Fugues from Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, with slow introductions by Mozart.

The final item is Mozart’s magnificent Adagio and Fugue K.546 which illustrates the radical effect a study of Bach had on Mozart’s compositional technique.
