Lucia loves Edgardo, her family’s sworn enemy; Enrico, her brother, desperate to save their family’s flagging fortunes, manipulates Lucia into a marriage with another man. Lucia loses her mind with bloody consequences, in a prelude to one of the greatest mad scenes in opera and one of the most beautiful arias ever written, ‘Il dolce suono’.
Having launched her to superstardom in Europe’s leading opera houses, Jessica Pratt returns home with her career-defining role as Lucia. From La Scala in Milan to Peru, she has stolen the hearts of audiences around the world with her mesmerising performances and voice of “liquid gold”.
