CitiOpera presents Verdi’s Il Trovatore

Following the outstanding success of Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos and Rossini’s La Cenerentola (Cinderella), CitiOpera returns with a stunning production of Verdi’s Il Trovatore.

This magnificent opera stars an outstanding international cast:

• Korean National Opera’s Principal Tenor Yoon Byung Kil as Manrico,
• Opera Australia and New Zealand Opera’s Amanda Atlas as Leonora,
• the outstanding Selena Pettifer as Azucena,
• Victorian Opera and Opera Australia’s  Michael Lampard as Count di Luna and
• Opera Australia’s Eddie Muliaumaseali’i as Ferrando.

Maestro Alan Cook leads CitiOpera’s celebrated Orchestra and Chorus.

Directed by Stella Axarlis AM, the production reflects the rich tradition of operatic passion, violence and love on stage.
